Accepting your Fat

If you are working on losing weight, getting healthier, being more active like many of us are, you know as well as I do that it can be hard work.  Walking by the tread mill even though you hear it calling your name, choosing to ignore the inner voice telling you that the ice cream you are about to eat will give you a tummy ache later, a pain you know all to well each time you eat dairy.  It is things like this that keep us frustrated at our lack of motivation or commitment!

What is important is that when we hear that voice within cautioning us to stay on our path, and instead we jump off all too willingly at times, like those times we are out with buddies and everyone is ordering delicious foods and you decide to order the most greasiest item on the menu instead of the salad you told yourself to order, that you must forgive yourself.  Find the humor in your choices and most importantly get over it.

Our first step to any life long change in our health or anything else for that matter is accepting ourselves exactly the way we are today and not the way we want to be tomorrow.  If we continue to wish we were something different and continually judge ourselves for how we are today, then how we want to be tomorrow will never come.

We must forgive ourselves for the choices we make and we must totally love ourselves for who we are today.  That means loving your big hips, your over sized belly, your puckered skin on your butt (That thing called cellulite! I know I have it!)  By accepting all these things about ourselves we can move forward a lot easier when we do want to become healthier.  So when you are wanting to lose that extra weight, it will happen because you already love yourself as you are today!!
